Little Bear Island Camp was purchased from the Haslett family in 2017. They had occupied the island with friends and family calling it Feesh Island for several years. A rock near the private beach still has that name today, and we’ll leave it there for respect of the hard work this family put into the island. The cabin is surrounded by flat rock that was all hand placed.
New Windows and roof were placed prior to the new ownership. The inside of the cabin took a makeover the summer of 2017 by new owners, Troy and Sandi Rasmusson. Not only were all the rooms in the cabin updated, but a new dock was placed, wrap around deck repaired, trees cleared for the beautiful views of Lake of the Woods, and too many other repairs to mention. Recently, the screened porch was updated and turned into a three season area including tongue and groove walls and new windows. New siding was placed outside also. There is a bar over looking the lake, and more sleeping room with new bunks and a futon. This clean and roomy 2 bedroom rental cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, a TV in the living room with an assortment of movies to choose from, has 2 futons, and an indoor washroom with compost toilet. The outdoor shower is a must with the beautiful views of Lake of the Woods. The cabin is powered by generator and solar power. The beds and bedding are also new and provide total comfort, with the cabin sleeping 10-12 people comfortably.
Little Bear Island Camp is a boat-to private island in Lake of the Woods 6 miles East of Morson, Ontario. This area is well known for some of the very best fishing and receives little fishing pressure due to its remote location. Not only will you catch high numbers of walleye, but the area is well known for its musky and crappie fishing as well.
